Following the half term break Andover were buoyant and keen to continue their good run of form. The ladies 1st’s travelled to Trojans who were a young and well drilled team. Andover started well and maintained control during much of the game. With Nomes and Karen marshalling the midfield, we held off much of the Trojans attack. Rhea worked tirelessly on the right, winning some physical battles with her opponent. Andover’s defence held firm throughout the game, with Aimee and Sarah making goal line saves during the match. Andover took the lead in the first half when Nomes intercepted a 16 yard clearance and ran into the D and struck the ball inti the back of the net. The second half continued in much the same vane. With Andover streaming down the wings, forcing Trojans onto the back foot. Andover doubled their advantage when a well weighted pass down the right was picked up by Sharon and a powerful strike across the D led to Kerrin picking up the ball and with some deft skill placed it past an advancing keeper. Altogether a fine performance leaving Andover moving up the league.
