Andover were confident going into the game following some good performances. They opened brightly with some sharp passes which culminated in an opening goal for Carley. 1-0 up and cruising. However, Eastleigh proved that you should never rest on your laurels, breaking quickly to equalise. The game followed a similar pattern, Andover taking the lead again when a well worked move resulted in Gabrielle placing the ball in the net. Once again Eastleigh equalised. And then they took the lead. Andover could not dominate in any area of the pitch. Half time was needed. The second half took a very similar pattern, although Andover dominated in attack. Rhea sprinted down the right and struck the ball across the D for Amelia to slot in at the far post. Captain Sammy has a fine game slotting two goals in, with the pick of the bunch flying past the keepers right ear. With no time left the score was tied at 5-5. Andover won a penalty corner, whistle blows and ‘boom’ Karen hits the winner from the top of the D. Not the greatest performance, but another victory in the bag.
